Discover the Var region and its activities
The Var, located in Provence, is an ideal tourist destination for families in search of sun, nature and cultural discoveries. Benefiting from a Mediterranean climate, it offers a wide variety of landscapes: beaches, forests, typical villages and lively towns. Draguignan and its surrounding villages, such as La Foux, offer a rich heritage and an authentic Provencal atmosphere.
The department is also packed with sites of interest, including nature parks, museums, castles and the beaches of the Côte d’Azur. On the leisure front, the Var offers a multitude of sporting activities – hiking, cycling, sailing, golf – as well as year-round entertainment, including festivals and concerts.
The best time to visit depends on your desires: summer for the sea, spring and autumn for walks, winter to avoid the crowds. The Var combines relaxation, culture and leisure for a successful getaway, whether camping or elsewhere.
